05.22.05: KENNEDY REACHES THE PODIUM!!!!!!!!!!
Today was Kennedy's day. He ended the day in 3rd place after a hard fought day of racing. The track direction was reversed for the day and most of the racers dropped at least a second off of their normal times, Kennedy was no exception. He was running in the low - mid 40's all day long.
Kennedy had the misfortune to start both of the heat races from the middle of the grid in a field of 13 racers. The starting postions are currently determined by drawing numbers. We hope to be grided based on qualifying times by the next race.
Kennedy finished both Heat races in 6th position after some very hard battles. There was a lot of passing between the competitors. Kennedy fought into third position only to be re-passed to finish where he started. Kennedy was following the lines of the others in front of him, which caused him to make some mistakes. During the final race, this would not be the case.
In the main event, Kennedy got an excellent start and was able to move into 4th position at the start of the race. He stayed in this postion until he and the racer in front of him caught up to the second place driver. The second place driver had a very strong motor but was not drving the proper line. He subsequently went off the track at the hairpin which cemented Kennedy's first podium. Kudos to Austin Osborne, who was extremely impressive throughout the event.
